Ingredients
- 1 package puff pastry
- 1 cup grated parmesan
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, slightly chilled
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons thyme, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- A few pinches of cayenne pepper, optional
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- With a rolling pin, roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch (3mm) thick, forming a rectangle roughly 18 x 12-inches (46 x 30 cm).
- Cut puff pastry evenly into two rectangles.
- Brush rectangles generously with melted butter.
- Sprinkle parmesan, garlic, thyme, and spices onto one rectangle. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover with the second rectangle (buttered side down), pressing to seal together.
- Cut puff pastry into strips about ½-inch wide (3 cm), and transfer to baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Twist strips to form spirals, pressing ends into parchment paper to keep in place.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until straws are golden and crispy.
