Ingredients

  • 2 bottom and 2 top pie crusts, Chef Dumas
  • 14 apples
  • 65 ml butter
  • 125 ml maple syrup
  • 250 ml brown sugar
  • 5 ml cinnamon
  • 2 pinches nutmeg
  • 30 ml cornstarch

Preparation

  1. Preheat to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Peel and slice the apples.
  3. Melt butter; sauté apples for 2 minutes.
  4. Add syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar; mix for 1 minute.
  5. Off heat, add cornstarch.
  6. Fill bottom crusts, cover with top crusts, seal edges.
  7. Make slits.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour (until crust is golden).
